Comments: My Dad, Robert Malloway, was a corporal in the Marines in the 433. I don't know too much about his service, but he would be amazied at this site and I'm sure it would bring back lots of memories. I do have some letters he sent my Mom from his Marine days. He would be so proud and I wish he was alive to see this.

Comments: Thank you for the priceless website. My grandfather was First Lieutenant Joe T. Hyden who served with the VMB-433 as a ground defense officer. The memories of my grandfather are brief due to his passing when I was ten years old. My respect for my Grandfather and the United States Marine Corps is eternal. I would appreciate any other information in regards to my grandfathers service to this great nation.

Comments: Ed Braze was my friend. He sold me the little homebuilt airplane called "VariEZ" back in 1990. His brother Vic, a Merchant Marine, kept the airplane at Chino Airport. These guys were my dear friends, we would always take a break at noon from working on the VariEZ and have a nice brown-bag lunch. These guys were my true friends and I will never forget them. God Bless all who read this. Blue skies and tailwinds.

Comments: It is a Day of remembering my dad (Sgt.Duane M. Yirka), when I see all the history displayed. I got out his "AVIATORS FLIGHT LOG BOOK" and pictures that he took of the war;He flew in Mar- April 1945 with pilots,Borland,Hawkins and Bennett. It was kind of neat to see the same insignia of the VMB-433 HERE AS IN MY DADS PICTURES IN THE ISLANDS. Best wishes to all those who served with my father and their families. If anyone recognizes his name please email me back. Gods Peace, Doug

Comments: This is a great site! It is nice to review / be reminded of the great service my father gave to this country & the men he served with & told stories about....his flight crew. I met most of them at the 50th reunion when my Dad was still alive. I was amazed at how the men bonded even after all these years! When my Dad, Gerard E. Hoff passed away, I was in charge of getting the Marine Honorguard. I told the Sergeant I had been a Marine for 33 years. He asked me where I had served & then chuckled when I told him it was under Staff Sargeant Gerard Hoff! Thanks & Semper Fi to whoever did this site!

Comments: I joined VMB433 as a replacement radio/gunner on Christmas Day 1944, at Emirau. This website has given me much information about the history of VMB433 which I would not otherwise have had. Thanks to all those who contributed. Best wishes to all. Semper Fi,
